The till runs its own local database on the PC it's installed on. Every sale, product, customer record, stock count, and setting lives in that one file, on that one machine — there is no cloud copy, and nothing about running a sale, printing a receipt, or checking your stock ever leaves the building.
Buying prices are restricted inside the app to admin accounts and are never part of anything sent anywhere. If you back up your data, that backup is a file you choose to save — optionally protected with a passphrase you set — and we never receive a copy of it.
The first time you open the till with no licence yet, you're asked for three things: shop name, your name, and email. That happens once, on that one screen. We use it for exactly two things: to recognise this specific installation if its local trial record is ever deleted or the PC is reset, and to reach you before the trial ends.
If you already own a licence key and skip the trial sign-up entirely, none of this is asked of you — see the next section for what happens instead.
A machine identifier. The till computes a one-way cryptographic hash from identifiers already built into your PC's hardware. The raw hardware identifier never leaves your PC — only this hash does, and it can't be reversed back into anything about your machine. It exists purely to recognise this specific installation for trial and licence enforcement.
Your country. Resolved automatically from your internet connection by our infrastructure provider whenever the till checks in — never asked from you, and never anything more precise than a country. We use it only to see broadly where the software is being used.
Entering a licence key sends that key and the machine identifier above to Lemon Squeezy, our payments and licensing partner, to confirm it's valid. Lemon Squeezy already collected a name and email from you when you purchased — governed by Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy — and shares that back to us, so our own record has a real contact for every paying customer, including anyone who buys a key outright without ever trying the trial.
After activation, the till periodically reconfirms with Lemon Squeezy that the key is still valid. That check sends only the licence key and its activation id — nothing else about your shop.
That's the complete list. No advertising networks, no analytics or tracking companies, no data brokers. We do not sell your information, to anyone, ever.
The trial and activation record is kept indefinitely, specifically so that uninstalling the till (or wiping the PC) can't be used to restart a free trial that's already run its course. Your shop's actual business data — sales, stock, customers — stays entirely on your own PC and is entirely under your own control to keep or delete.
Contact us at support@muchlogic.com to ask what we have on file for your shop, correct it, or ask us to remove your name and email. We may need to keep the anonymous machine identifier itself to keep preventing trial abuse, even after removing anything that identifies you personally.
Lemon Squeezy and Cloudflare both run infrastructure across multiple countries, so the small amount of information described above may be processed outside the country your shop operates in.
This is business software for operating a shop till. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone using it as a child.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it. We won't reduce your rights under this policy without giving you notice.
